The World Cup winner has been named as a starter for the Premier League opener and also wears the skipper's armband in Antonio Valencia's absence
Paul Pogba starts for Manchester United in their Premier League opener against Leicester City on Friday at Old Trafford and will also captain the side.
The French World Cup winner only returned to training on Monday following his exploits with his national side in Russia this summer but has been selected by Jose Mourinho for the first game of the league season.
Despite reports of friction between the midfielder and the manager, Pogba comes in as the only change from the side which lost to Bayern Munich in their final pre-season game on Sunday with Ander Herrera missing out with a hamstring injury.
United also have a number of returning World Cup stars on the bench, with Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku all on standby.
