Russian gymnasts Dina and Arina Averina have made a splash at the 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, claiming all the gold medals up for grabs at the tournament.

The Russian twin sisters impeccably executed their complicated routines, tallying scores unreachable for the rest of the competitors performing in Baku. The twins have shared all European individual titles between them, with each gymnast winning two individual gold medals.

On the first day of the competition, Arina dropped the hoop twice during her routine and failed to progress to the final, where only the top eight qualifiers were allowed to compete. However, the gymnast brilliantly redeemed herself from the disastrous performance in the hoop qualifiers, winning individual finals with a ball and clubs.

Inspired by her sister’s success Dina, who is the reigning world all-around champion, added two more European trophies to her name, dominating in the ribbon and hoop finals.

One more representative of Russia, Alexandra Soldatova, claimed two silver awards at the continental tournament, finishing second in the ball and ribbon finals – right after the Averina twins who dominated the field in Baku.
