A young man died in a horrific crash in Northern Russia as a vehicle collided with a truck on a local highway. The driver lost control as the oncoming vehicle allegedly ran him off the lane.
Blood-curdling footage of the accident appeared on Tuesday on a social media page for police in the Murmansk region, neighboring Finland and Norway.
The dashcam video shows a car moving along the seemingly empty highway when suddenly an oncoming car swerves across the line in an attempt to overtake a truck. The driver narrowly escapes a collision but loses control of the car, which skids and drives into the oncoming lane itself.
Tragically for him, another heavy truck was coming in the opposite direction. Time was apparently too short to avoid the collision. Footage suggests the car overturned following the crash.

The fate of the driver is so far unknown. Officials were also reluctant to reveal any further details of the investigation but appealed for potential witnesses of the tragedy to come forward.
