US Special Counsel Robert Mueller has said Russia launched a “concerted effort” to interfere in the 2016 election, but confirmed his investigation found “insignificant evidence” of any collusion conspiracy with the Trump campaign.
Mueller has announced he is formally closing counsel's office and resigning from Justice Department.
When talking about the obstruction part, Mueller repeated that he would have said so if he had confidence the president did not commit an obstruction crime. Mueller emphasized that they were working under a Department of Justice policy against charging the president with a crime. He says that charging Trump with a crime was "not an option we could consider."
Mueller says it would also be "unfair to potentially accuse somebody of a crime" when Donald Trump, as president, would not have a court hearing to clear himself.
