mo4ch:>‘It was just the right moment’: Man appears in court over attack on wrestling legend Bret Hart | Mo4ch News

The fan accused of attacking wrestling legend Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart as he gave a speech at a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony said he “just felt it was just the right moment” when explaining his actions to police.

Zachary Madsen, 26, was arraigned in a Brooklyn court on Sunday on charges of assault and criminal trespassing.

He is accused of jumping into the ring to confront Hart as he addressed the crowd alongside his niece and WWE wrestler Natalya, daughter of Hart's deceased former tag-team partner Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

A host of people ran to the veteran wrestling icon’s aid during the incident, including former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, the husband of current WWE star Ronda Rousey.

At the hearing at a Brooklyn criminal court a judge issued Hart and WWE security guard Thaddeus Jones – who was injured in the attack – orders of protection against Madsen.

Madsen was charged with assault and criminal trespassing and held on a $1,500 bond, the Mail Online reports.

His lawyers had requested that the judge not set bail, arguing that their client had been "agreeable and cooperative," and that he would have trouble raising the funds.

It has also been reported that Madsen has a prior arrest in Lincoln, Nebraska, for stalking mixed martial artist Haris Talundzic last year.
