China’s Chang’e-4 probe has successfully germinated seeds on the dark side of the Moon in a miniature, artificial biosphere, providing hope for the future of sustainable, long-distance manned space travel.The probe conducted the first-ever soft landing on the dark side of the Moon on January 3 following a 20-day journey from Earth.
