A massive section of a towering bridge in Genoa, Italy, has collapsed on Tuesday, triggering a recovery operation.

Officials said the collapse was caused by strong storms moving through the area of northwest Italy.
The collapse happened on part of the viaduct between Pocever and Mornandi on the A10 highway, the country's national police, Polizia di Stato, said.
It was unclear if anyone was injured in the collapse.
