OUR experts give you an early shot at finding a winner as they look at the major races around the nation this weekend.

Last week … eight winners. Ray Thomas (Isorich, $21) and Stephen Zammit (Libran, $26) led the charge with big returns for their value bets. Darren Prendergast (Redzel, $2.50) and John Davis (Comin’ Through, $2.30) were on target at Randwick. Royal Symphony ($2) got Michael Manley and Simon Moy back in the winner’s circle, while Nathan Exelby nailed it with Manias ($2.50). Lincoln Moore landed his third straight winner (Steel Frost, $3) and Ben Scadden was on the money with Glam Guru ($2.80).

IPSWICH (9 races, start 11.42am),

CAULFIELD (9 races, start 12pm),

ROSEHILL GARDENS (9 races, start 12.15pm),

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS (8 races, 1.16pm),

BELMONT (8 races, 3.23pm).

BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph). Form: 91317

DON’T GIVE A DAMN (Race 3, No. 2)

Almost beat Suncraze last start and the time was super. Just has to run out the 1500m to be winning this.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.20

Value bet: SHOGUN SUN (Race 7, No. 11)

TAB Fixed Odds: $23

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 21124

ZUMBELINA (Race 9, No. 5)

Smart mare who resumed with a gallant win over 1200m R’hill 3YO+ (Bm90) September 9. Gets to 1400m which will suit and she will be very tough to hold out again, particularly form the perfect draw.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.40

Value bet: DANISH TWIST (Race 8, No. 5)

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 92321

DAWN WALL (Race 5, No. 9)

There was plenty to enthuse about Dawn Wall’s return to racing at headquarters earlier this month, when closing fast behind Washington Heights. She is proven second-up and gets two kilogram off here from her latest Randwick effort. Should be stalking the pace from her inside gate and more than likely to have the final say.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.40

Value bet: ADMIRAL JELLO (Race 2, No. 5)

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 24344

DIXIE BLOSSOMS (Race 8, No. 1)

Has a sterling record of four wins and seven placings from her 16 starts, mostly in elite company. Those who have followed the mare throughout will know that she has often raced without much luck. She is adaptable but I think most of us would prefer her to get back in a fastish run race and come home down the outside with one last surge. Looks as if that is the plan from the wide gate.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

Value bet: GOOD PROJECT (Race 5, No. 1)

TAB Fixed Odds: $13

DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 11411

DAWN WALL (Race 5, No. 9)

The talented mare started her spring campaign in good style with a fast-finishing second. She won second-up last campaign and can do the same here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.40

Value bet: GOLD STANDARD (Race 7, No. 4)

TAB Fixed Odds: $12

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 82132

ZUMBELINA (Race 9, No. 5)

Beat a smart one in Tango Rain when first-up. That performance indicated her best is on firm ground — which she should get again on Saturday — after she failed on wet and choppy tracks in the autumn.

TAB fixed odds: $2.40

Value bet: RAVI (Caul Race 8, No. 6)

TAB fixed odds: $5

13. FORMALITY (13) K McEvoy 54.5kg
14. CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES (8) J Collett 54.5kg

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 2×161

ESHTIRAAK (Race 2, No. 1)

Tough, slightly under-rated colt who looks well placed to win his fifth race. Has Damien Oliver on and should get a great on speed run and prove too strong for his rivals.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

Best value: REVOLVING DOOR (Race 5, No. 6)

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20

GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun). Form: 11122

ESHTIRAAK (Race 2, No. 1) $3.20

Talented Street Cry colt should have panels on this lot and Hayes-Hayes-Dabernig yard on fire. Looks a nice bank-builder for your multis as well.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

Value Bet: HARLOW GOLD (Race 7, No. 12)

TAB Fixed Odds: $16

media_cameraBig Duke will find the 2000m journey in the Naturalism Stakes more to his liking this weekend. Picture: Jenny Evans

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 39761

BIG DUKE (Race 7, No. 3)

Put up your Dukes! Going for the double Duke knockout here. Cups contender Big Duke gets out to a preferred distance range and should be reeling some of his rivals late. Both runs back at 1600m have been OK. He was a revelation in the late summer/autumn and distance gives him a genuine chance at nice odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50

Value bet: DUKE OF BRUNSWICK (Race 5, No. 7)

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 22112

FUHRYK (Race 8, No. 5)

An absolute horror show last start when heavily backed and never got clear running, forget she ever went around. Is undefeated second up having won on two previous attempts and looks perfectly placed.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80

Value bet: PARIAH (Rose Race 7, No. 3)

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

NATHAN EXELBY (Courier Mail) Form: 30381

BERGERAC (Race 9, No. 12)

Promising horse who was scratched last week, but finds himself in a similar race here. Stamped himself a genuine Saturday horse two starts back in a handy 3YO race. Given a short break, he won easily over a trip short of his best resuming. This is not a strong race, so he just needs a touch of luck from the draw to be very hard to beat.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6.50

Value bet: LOVING HOME (Race 4, No. 6)

TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser) Form: 26111

GET THE NOD (Race 2, No. 4)

Former very smart three-year-old who has had more than his fair share of setbacks. Has been trialling the house down in preparation for his return. It’s been 1133 days since he last tasted victory but he will take a power of beating.

Value bet: VERREAUX (Race 4, No. 8)

TAB Fixed Odds: $31
