Watch: Subi’s not-so-memorable moments

THERE’S been plenty of ‘rose-coloured glasses’ reminiscing of Subiaco Oval ahead of the venue’s final AFL game this weekend.

But what about the memories that aren’t so fond?

Fans have done plenty of complaining about uncomfortable bench seats, packed toilets, and huge queues over the years.

And on the field, there have been moments that were tough to watch.

James Hird’s horrific facial injury. Michael Barlow’s broken leg. And who could forget Perth Glory’s famous choke from 3-0 up in the 2000 grand final of the old NSL competition?

Eagles fans still shudder at the thought of the 2007 semi-final loss to Collingwood in extra time, which marked the end of the Ben Cousins – Chris Judd era.

There’s also been lighter-hearted not-so-memorable moments. Like the time Mark Thompson chowed down on a salad roll in the coaches’ box as his 2008 Geelong side destroyed West Coast. Or umpire Peter Carey stunning the Dockers by taking a chest mark during play.

Umpire Peter Carey briefly stole the spotlight in a game in 1999.

Though Subi provided plenty of bad and ugly to go with the good, it will be missed all the same.

Recap some of the not-so-great moments in the player above.
