Uzbek-born billionaire Alisher Usmanov has attempted to take control of Arsenal from major shareholder Stan Kroenke, according to the Financial Times .

The metal magnate currently owns 30 per cent of the London club, and has offered Kroenke £1 billion to buy the American’s 67 per cent stake. Kroenke has been involved with Arsenal since 2007 and is unwilling to sell his share to Usmanov.


MAN UTD MAKE FIRST SIGNING

Manchester United have secured their first signing of the summer, agreeing a deal for Espanyol midfielder Arnau Puigmal, according to Sport .

The 16-year-old, fancied as one of Spain’s most promising players, will link up with his new Old Trafford team-mates once the window officially opens.

Espanyol had hoped Puigmal would remain at the club and were willing to hand him a spot in the first team, though a switch to the Premier League with United’s reserves has now reportedly been completed.


MARSEILLE WANT ZOUMA LOAN

Chelsea wish to offload Kurt Zouma on loan in the summer and Marseille are willing to move for the France international, L’Equipe reports.

Zouma has struggled to win game time since returning from serious injury and OM could offer him that as they seek to build a side to challenge PSG and Monaco.
