JUBAYL, Lebanon, Oct 19 (KUNA) — Female economists in the Arab world should be given further support, Chair of the Arab Businesswomen Council (ABC) Sheikha Hessa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah said on Wednesday.
Sheikha Hessa made these remarks in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the inaugural regional conference of the Lebanese Businesswomen Council, patronized by Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Alian Hakim.
Moreover, speaking on women in Gulf nations, particularly, Kuwait, she said that support given to them there has enabled them to make headway in numerous economic sectors, adding that Arab women aspire to reach new heights.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Arab Businesswomen Council Khairiya Dashti told KUNA that it is crucial to ensure increased support of women in the business realm, as they seek to contribute to the development their societies.
She also added that events such as this conference can be a tremendous help to women as they strive to achieve further success.
The two-day conference displayed some of Arab women’s most notable accomplishments, with participation of 22 Arab and foreign nations. (end)
