91,160 fans turned up on Sunday to the Camp Nou to see the penultimate league game of the 2015/16 season. The figure represents the best derby crowd against Espanyol in the last decade, surpassing the attendance of from the second to last game of the 2006/07 season when 90,695 people were present in the stadium.
The crowd against Barça’s city rivals is the third best of the season in the league, only bettered by the figure against Real Madrid (99, 264) and that of Athletic Bilbao, also in the second half of the league season.
Everyone inside Camp Nou played their part in the spectacular pre-game mosaic which bore the message ‘Som-hi tots’ (‘Let’s go everyone’) and also in the minute’s silence in memory of the recently passed away Manel Vich, the voice of Camp Nou for almost 60 years.
