Six are injured after a car plows into a crowd in the mid-Wilshire area, officials say – Los Angeles Times

Six people were injured Sunday afternoon after a car smashed into a group of people dining at a restaurant in the mid-Wilshire neighborhood of Los Angeles, police said.

Two of the six patients sustained injuries that were not life threatening, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The crash was reported shortly before 4 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Pico Boulevard.

Two vehicles collided in the intersection of Pico and Redondo boulevards after one blew a red light, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Dwayne Wilson.

The impact sent one car into the sidewalk, he added, striking a group of people dining in a restaurant patio.
