AUSSIE actor Rachael Taylor frequently gets the opportunity to dress up for red carpet events and screen roles.
But she is particularly chuffed to be a part of the glamour and excitement of an international racing event as a celebrity guest at the Caulfield Cup.
The Transformers star, who has just wrapped filming the second season of Netflix series Jessica Jones in New York, says there’s nothing quite like frocking up for the races.
“It transports you to old world elegance — to a time when people really dressed up and marked an occasion,” she says. “I adore seeing all the glamorous, elegant women in outfits, getting off the tram with their fascinators and hats.”
Based in Los Angeles, 33-year-old Taylor is looking forward to returning home after 18 months with her boyfriend of four years Mike Piscitelli, a photographer and director.
“He’ll be coming to Australia with me but I’m not sure if he will be coming to the races yet,” she says.
“I haven’t been back in Australia for 18 months which is much longer than I feel good about.”
Taylor will enjoy all the trackside action of the 140th running of the BMW Caulfield Cup on October 21 from the Caulfield Lounge which has partnered with David Jones and LA’s famous EP & LP rooftop bar.
This year the Melbourne Racing Club is celebrating the success of Australian talent doing well abroad and bringing some Hollywood glamour trackside.
