The Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday selected Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft.
Fultz, 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, played one year at Washington. The 19-year-old averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists as the Huskies finished with a 9-22 record last season.
It is the second straight year the 76ers would select at No. 1 overall, after acquiring the pick from Boston. Last year, Philadelphia chose forward Ben Simmons, who missed the entire 2016-17 NBA season with a foot injury.
This is a developing story.
