The 25-year-old is the subject of a loan move to Ligue 1 side Nice…
Al Ain FC star Omar Abdulrahman is being linked to a loan move to Ligue 1 side Nice.
The reports emerged after pictures surfaced on social media of a letter from the French outfit to Al Ain enquiring about the player’s availability on loan.
The Arabian Gulf League side have reportedly rejected Nice’s attempt to avail of their star playmaker’s services. However, the letter seems to be dated June 27 and hasn’t appeared on any official outlets.
Despite the UAE side’s initial rejection, there remains hope of an agreement being met this summer according to Sport360. The UAE-based sports publication claims a Nice official traveled to Abu Dhabi in the past week in an effort to broker a deal.
In the letter, Nice requests the service of the Asian Player of the Year on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.
The Emirati player has long been linked with a move to Europe, even spending a two-week trial with Manchester City in 2012 with his failure to secure a work permit leading to the break down of a four-year deal with the Premier League outfit.
A move to Nice would see Abdulrahman link up with former City, Inter and AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli who made the decision to remain at the club this summer.
