NO player truly enjoys pre-season training but it’s a lap at the other end of the year they fear running the most.
With just one round left in the regular competition, there are precisely 129 players who have played first grade this season but failed to cross the white stripe.
For eight teams, their men are just 80 minutes away from the dreaded nudie run.
Some have only played one or two games in the top grade so may be spared. Others don’t have that excuse.
Certain teams are known to count the tries scored in reserve grade or the NYC to get some of their players off the duck.

For the eight teams involved in the finals, their men live to fight another day.
The Roosters are one of those sides and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is one of those players.
The enforcer did the dreaded run last season after failing to score and with time running short for him to add his name to the try scorers list in 2017, it’s something the prop admits to thinking about quite regularly.
“It’s pretty hard not to think about it when you get reminded every day from all the outside backs,” Waerea-Hargreaves told foxsports.com.au.
“Robbo gets into it and all the guys that score the tries — Ferguson, Latrell — they get into us boys in the middle.
“There’s only about three of us boys in the middle who have scored all year. I’m going to blame Jason Taylor because he’s our attacking coach.”
When it comes to the nudie run, generally it’s the forwards who’ll cop it.
The defending premiers, Cronulla, have Chris Heighington, Jeremy Latimore, Joseph Paulo and Sam Tagataese yet to score this season.
Heighington has run the nudie in two of his past three seasons at the Sharks.
He’s not alone there.
At the Roosters the likes of Dylan Napa, Kane Evans, Nat Butcher and Zane Tetevano are middles yet to cross the stripe.
Anticipating the inevitable, Waerea-Hargreaves has words of wisdom for any player to embark on their naked and likely chilly journey in the coming weeks.
“There’s a few rules and regulations the boys will have to abide by,” he said.
“Usually we do a lap around Allianz Stadium. It depends where we are. If it’s inside it’s inside or it could be outdoors.
“You’ve got to be proud of getting it all out there and doing it to the best of your ability. It’s cold at that time of the year so you want to try and do it as fast as you can. It’s quite funny.”
In 2015 Waerea-Hargreaves scored two tries but after enjoying Mad Monday festivities, he admits to joining in on the run.
Having scored nine tries throughout his nine seasons in the top grade, the nudie run is something the 28-year-old has come to embrace.
“I usually do it,” he confessed. “I’ve done it for so many years that I just continued doing it. It’s sort of become a habit.”
Here’s the list of every player on the nudie:
Robbie Rochow (8 games for Rabbitohs)
Erin Clark (one game for Warriors)
Dean Britt (one NRL game for the Storm)
Leeson Ah Mau
Tevita Pangai Junior
