A 43-year-old New York man by the name of Michael Orchard believed he was a being a hero by rescuing his neighbor’s pet from what he perceived to be a serious house fire. There have been reports in the past of users of LSD thinking they could fly, but this guy turned into another kind of “super hero.” According to Trooper Mark Cepiel, Orchard was under the clear impression that the house was on fire and that he was rescuing the family dog.
However, Orchard, who lives in Halfmoon, NY, told police later that he had swallowed cough medicine laced with LCD and the fire was only in his head. He was found standing proudly on the grass outside the home with the neighbor’s white dog in his arms. However, instead of being lauded a hero, the New York man has since been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
