SHOCKS, frilly frocks and jocks all graced the red carpet for today’s MTV VMAs with some not so subtle messages and serious amounts of cleavage also on show.

New Zealander Lorde normally keeps her look cool and grungy, but she had fashion critics puzzled when she chose the low-key event to hit the accelerator on her glam factor.

The singer arrived in a lilac feathered Monique Lhuillier gown that would be more suited to the Oscars.

While Keisha received kudos for her emotional speech inside the ceremony, her layered tulle dress was not the most flattering look.

Supermodel and TV personality Heidi Klum proved she still has the body, showing off her svelt figure in a very revealing Peter Dundas number. She was slightly out shadowed by her America’s Got Talent co-star Mel B who fans suggested was sending a message to her ex-husband Stephan Bellefante in a sequin gown saying: “You will never own me”.
