Well it looks like GOP leadership has seen the embers of deceit through the bellowing smoke coming from President Donald Trump’s efforts to conceal his links to Russia. The bill to increase sanctions on Russia and limit the president’s ability to remove them gives us hope that the Grand Old Party recognizes that questioning of Trump’s actions is not just smoke from witches’ cauldrons, but is a threat to the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and George Voinovich and also an assault on our democracy.
These include Trump’s refusal to release his income taxes, firing James Comey as FBI director, threatening to fire Robert Mueller and trying to restrict his investigation, while whitewashing his son’s and campaign leadership’s meeting with a KGB gang to accept help against Clinton. Will the president get the embedded message not to mess with Mueller?
Trump’s financial past contained many bankruptcies that hurt others but not his company. We can’t let this president bankrupt our principles so he and his family can make more money.
