THEY’VE weathered the highs and lows of life in the Hollywood spotlight, yet Jada Pinkett Smith says the secret to her 20-year marriage to actor Will Smith is admitting they’re not perfect.
In town ahead of Thursday’s Australian release of her new comedy blockbuster Girls Trip, the 45-year-old actor told The Daily Telegraph: “As long as you know that your relationship is not perfect, because that is when you get in trouble.
“Relating to the imperfections is what makes everything perfect and that you know a part of being in a relationship is growing together.”
Twenty years of marriage is a remarkable feat in Hollywood.
The couple wed in 1997 and are parents to Jaden, 19, and Willow, 16, with both kids also forging careers in entertainment.
Girls Trip is one of the most successful films of the year, with a leading African-American cast that has grossed more than $120 million at the US box office.
It stars Pinkett Smith with Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Tiffany Haddish.
