The Edmonton Oilers, on goals from Jordan Eberle, Tyler Pitlick, and Anton Slepyshev, defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in regulation on Tuesday night 3-2. With the win the Oilers improved to 3-1-0 on the season and they now have six points in the standings. The victory helps make the 6-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres history and it was refreshing to see Edmonton muster up some defense in the game.
Team captain Connor McDavid was held scoreless for the second straight game. McDavid started the season strong with six points in two games. However, he has not rediscovered his scoring touch since Edmonton beat Calgary on Friday.
