The 29-year-old Real Madrid left-back took to Twitter to announce his impending switch to the Portuguese side

Fabio Coentrao has confirmed his impending move from Real Madrid to Sporting Lisbon.

Ronaldo’s bizarre Insta posts continue

The 29-year-old left-back reportedly had been close to a loan move to the Portuguese side, and he took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the switch.

Posting a picture with his family from Sporting’s Estadio Jose Alvalade, he wrote: “Very happy to have the opportunity to play for this great club.”

Coentrao has played for Madrid since a 2011 move from Benfica but made just six appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos last season. The Portugal international spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan to Monaco.
