WASHINGTON, Oct 19 (KUNA) — The latest national poll in the US presidential race, released on Wednesday, shows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by 9 points.
Clinton leads Trump 47 percent to 38 percent in a four-way race with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 3 percent, the Bloomberg Politics poll found.
Democratic nominee Clinton now wins among male voters by 46 percent to 44 percent for Republican nominee Trump, and among voters without a college degree by 48 percent to 44 percent, the poll showed — a significant reversal for Trump among his base supporters.
Clinton also maintained a 17-point edge among women voters overall, and was endorsed by white women 46 percent to 45 percent, according to the poll results.
Fifty-six percent of voters in the survey said the 2005 recording of Trump discussing sexually assaulting women “will be a concern” as they vote, compared with 40 percent who said he had put those issues to rest.
Ninety-three percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters in the poll indicated that they backed Clinton, while 85 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters endorsed Trump. The survey showed Clinton leading 39 percent to 38 percent among independent voters. (end)
