FC Barcelona B fell to a 1-0 defeat away to CD Olímpic de Xàtiva on the final day of the seasons which sees them finish in eleventh position in the standings.
After a tentative start from both sides, it was the visitors who came closest to breaking the deadly lock early on, though Barça would be punished for not taking their chance when it came.
Mujica had a clear opportunity to score on 35 minutes but in the very next attack, the home side seized the initiative and grabbed the opener. Berna was on hand to tap in the rebound following Luismi’s free-kick which hit the woodwork.
Soon after the restart, Perea came mightily close to levelling the game after a fine solo run which ended in his strike going just wide of the mark.
Xemi had two chances moments later but after failing to take either of them, the home side began to slow the game down in order to preserve the lead. Their tactics paid off, as they held out for a much-needed win while Gerard Lopez’s men end the season with a defeat.
