These two teams lock horns in the International Champions Cup and our tipster is expecting Carlo Ancelotti’s side to seize a first-half advantage
The International Champions Cup continues on Thursday when German champions Bayern Munich face Serie A side Inter in Singapore.
Carlo Ancelotti’s charges looked to have beaten Arsenal in their opening game of the competition, but Alex Iwobi’s last-gasp goal for the English Premier League side took the tie to a penalty shoot-out, which the Gunners duly won.
Things went from bad to worse for the Bavarians in their next outing, as they suffered a 4-0 battering against Milan. Bayern’s third International Champions Cup match against Chelsea yielded a more positive outcome, however, as the Germans enjoyed a comfortable 3-2 win against the Blues and a repeat of that display would surely spell danger for Inter.
Bayern have happy memories of last summer’s meeting between these two teams in this competition, for the German giants eased to a 4-1 victory and Betfair Sportsbook make Ancelotti’s team their 8/15 (1.53) favourites to come out on top in this clash. There is 100/30 (4.33) that the match remains level at the end of 90 minutes.
Inter, now under the stewardship of Luciano Spalletti – who made the move to San Siro from Roma earlier this summer – suffered a 2-1 defeat against Nurnberg earlier this month before holding Schalke 04 to a 1-1 draw.
There is 9/2 (5.50) that Inter, who kicked off their International Champions Cup clash with a 1-0 win against Olympique Lyonnais on Monday, get the better of German opposition at the third time of asking this summer.
Inter could struggle to make much of an impact here, for Spalletti’s side have yet to hit top gear and it is doubtful as to whether the Serie A side are strong enough to cope if Bayern are anywhere near their best.
The Bavarians proved a point in the wake of their 4-0 humbling at the hands of Milan last week – Ancelotti’s team raced into a 3-0 lead against Chelsea inside 30 minutes – and Bayern will be determined to come out of the traps quickly once again in this tie.
Just 2/5 (1.40) is available that Bayern bag the opening goal of the game, but better value could lie in backing the German champions to hold a half time lead at even money (2.0) ahead of Thursday’s International Champions Cup clash.
